Meet Mrs Grace – The Heart Behind A Little Bite Studio
Grace Choi, known lovingly by her students as Mrs Grace, is the founder of A Little Bite Studio. She is a creative artist, illustrator, and educator based in Wentworth Point, Sydney. With a Bachelor of Visual Arts, Grace has turned her love of drawing and painting into a fun and creative job. She now spends her time teaching kids and teens how to explore their own creativity while also working as a live illustrator for events, weddings, and big brands.
She has drawn at events for Rimowa, Prada, YSL, Chaumet, Carolina Herrera, Fendi,, and more. From fashion shows to birthday parties, she brings her sketchbook and captures special moments in a fun and personal way. When she’s not drawing for events, she’s in her studio, helping kids learn to express themselves through art.
5 Minutes with Mrs Grace
Q: Who is Mrs. Grace?
I’m Grace Choi, but most people at the studio call me Mrs Grace. I’m a creative artist. I draw, paint, and help kids learn how to create art too. I’m also a mum and a big fan of chocolate and sketchbooks.
Q: If you were a colour, what would you be?
Pink. It’s fun, bright, and full of energy.
Q: What do you love?
Drawing, painting, helping kids discover their creativity, and drinking really good coffee.
Q: What inspires you?
People’s stories. Everyone is different, and I love using art to show who they are.
Q: Describe your art in three words.
Playful. Simple. Honest.
Q: Who are your clients, and what’s been a standout project?
I’ve worked with lots of cool brands like Rimowa, Chaumet, Carolina Herrera, and Fendi. A highlight was drawing live portraits at a big fashion event. People were so surprised and happy to see themselves on paper.
Q: What’s the best part about teaching art?
Seeing kids get excited when they realise they can make something amazing. It’s the best feeling.
Q: What’s your top tip for aspiring young artists?
Keep drawing. Don’t worry about being perfect. Try new things, and have fun with it.
Q: What inspired A Little Bite Studio?
I wanted to build a place where kids could feel safe to be themselves and make art that means something to them.
Q: A memorable moment in your career?
The first time I got to draw live at a big event. I was nervous, but when people smiled at their portraits, I knew I was doing something special.
Q: What do you hope students take away from the studio?
I want them to feel proud of what they make, even when it’s messy or not perfect. I want them to know that their ideas matter.
Q: How do you teach across ages and skill levels?
For younger kids, we keep it fun and simple. For older students, we dive deeper into drawing skills and creativity. Everyone learns at their own pace.
Q: Tell us about your live portrait process.
I watch people closely and try to draw their personality, not just their face. I use quick lines to catch the moment.
Q: What role does art play in today’s world?
Art helps us slow down and think. It’s a way to express feelings, tell stories, and connect with others.
Q: What’s your advice for aspiring artists?
Getting to where I am now took time and a lot of practice. I didn’t wake up one day as a professional artist. I started with doodles in my notebooks and a huge curiosity about how to get better. I made a lot of mistakes, and I still do. But that’s how I learned.
What helped me most:
Drawing all the time, even when I didn’t feel confident
Asking questions and trying new tools
Being okay with starting over again and again
If you’re someone who draws every day, loves to create, and feels like art is your happy place, then keep going. That’s how it starts.
