Our Student Riven Is a Young Paddo Art Prize Finalist
Hi everyone,
We wanted to share a little piece of exciting news from our studio community.
Our student Riven has been selected as a finalist in the Young Paddo Art Prize, a wonderful achievement and a beautiful recognition of his creativity, imagination and dedication to art.
A Huge Congratulations to Riven
If you've ever watched your own child sit at the kitchen table working on a piece of art, you'll know it doesn't happen by accident. It's weeks of observing, sketching, trying something, scrapping it, and trying again. That's the same process every child works through in our classes each term, and watching it turn into recognition like this is exactly why we love what we do.
We're also incredibly proud of every one of our students who entered this year's competition. It takes courage for a child to put their artwork out into the world and let someone else look at it. Seeing our young artists embrace that challenge, whether they placed or not, is something we think every parent should feel proud of.
We'd love for you to join us in cheering Riven on as he heads into the awards presentation in October. We know he'd appreciate all the encouragement from our wonderful studio community. 💛
Why This Kind of Moment Matters for Kids
It's easy to see an art prize and think it's just about the prize. But if you're a parent, you'll probably recognise there's something bigger going on for your child underneath it.
Courage. Sharing something you made, something personal, with strangers and judges is genuinely brave. Most adults find that hard too.
Resilience. Creating something, submitting it, and then sitting with whatever the outcome is builds a kind of emotional strength that follows kids well beyond art class.
Ownership. A competition entry is entirely your child's own decision making from start to finish. That's rare for them to experience.
Confidence. Finishing a piece and sending it off is already an achievement, long before any results come in.
This is part of why we encourage every student to enter opportunities like this when they come up. Not because we expect every child to be a finalist, but because we've seen how much they grow just from going through the process.
What We Believe About Art at A Little Bite Studio
We believe art is about so much more than creating something beautiful to hang on the fridge. For us, it's about:
Building confidence, through finishing what you start and feeling proud of it
Encouraging curiosity, about artists, techniques and the world around them
Developing creative thinking, the kind of problem solving that helps kids in every part of life, not just art
Giving children a place where they feel genuinely inspired to express themselves
Moments like Riven's finalist announcement remind us why this work matters, and why we keep showing up for it every term.
Join Our Creative Community This Term
As we prepare for the new term, we'd love to welcome more young artists into our creative community. If you've been looking for kids art classes where your child can build confidence, try new techniques and be genuinely proud of what they make, whether they're picking up a paintbrush for the very first time or already dreaming about their next competition entry, there's a place for them here with us.
Congratulations again, Riven. We're cheering for you all the way to October. 💛
